EWTD Opt out Survey

As I am sure you are aware from August the 1st 2009 the 48 hours working week rule applied to all European employees. There have been numerous discussion with regard to opting out of the 48 hour week. Within the framework of this law an individual can choose to "opt out" from the 48 hour working week rule so long as the rest requirements are adhered to. There is a weblink with government guidance on this.

The Royal College of Surgeons have suggested that a 65 hour week is a good compromise between a requirement for reduced working hours and hours required to obtain training and providing better care for patients.

We would like to gather your views on opting out of the 48 hour week, how you feel that might work and what is happening in your region.

(I have found out since posting this survey, that ASiT and BOTA are going to be sending out a more detailed survey in Sept with regard EWTD and opt out. It would be good to complete this for them too.)

A note on privacy
This survey is anonymous.
The record kept of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you unless a specific question in the survey has asked for this. If you have responded to a survey that used an identifying token to allow you to access the survey, you can rest assured that the identifying token is not kept with your responses. It is managed in a separate database, and will only be updated to indicate that you have (or haven't) completed this survey. There is no way of matching identification tokens with survey responses in this survey.
